Helply is a 100%-bootstrapped "first outcome-based AI help desk" — funded entirely by 65–70% EBITDA from Alex Turnbull's parent company, with no outside capital and no global office footprint. Going up against VC-backed competitors with 10× the headcount, the question was whether a self-funded team could buy the best booth at the largest B2B + AI event of the year and turn it into a quarter's worth of pipeline in three days.
On the floor
Helply put $100K of founder capital into showing up properly: the best booth location in Hangar West, the full Helply team on the floor, pandas, and 16 protestors out front turning "stop paying for seats, only pay for outcomes" into an unmissable stunt. Every conversation was anchored to one positioning line — outcome-based pricing instead of per-seat — and the team booked demos directly from the booth instead of trying to capture badge scans for later.
The result
For three days the Helply booth in Hangar West was packed end to end. The team walked away with 150+ ICP-fit demos booked, every single prospect echoing the same line: "we want to pay for value, not for seats."
